RECAP USE CASES
In RECAP, we address challenges in reliable provisioning of applications and infrastructure in distributed clouds. Our focus is in providing both methodologies and tools for provisioning deployment support for complex application components, infrastructure management support, and infrastructure (run-time) operations support.
The following use cases have been selected to be representative for a wide range of cloud actors and applications and to demonstrate the characteristic challenges that can be overcome by RECAP's approach to the management of heterogeneous infrastructures.

BT
Network Function Virtualisation, QoS Management and Remediation
BT
BT Group plc is the listed holding company for the BT Group of companies which provides communications services solutions, serving customers in more than 180 countries. With the recent massive shift to online video consumption, telecommunications network operators, like BT, face significant challenges from increasing volumes of users accessing the Internet from an unprecedented variety of devices, whilst simultaneously requiring faster broadband speeds. To meet their customer Quality of Service requirements, telecommunications network operators such as BT are looking to 'edge computing' as a solution to overcome network congestion and latency issues. BT's motivation to adopt edge computing is to develop an efficient resource management solution to improve customer experience, to reduce traffic on its network and to reduce expenditure on growing network capacity and compute infrastructure.
